Celebration of the Amateur Pianist &
  Rocky Mountain Amateur Piano Competition

Welcome to our website! We love piano music and are glad that you share in our interest. Whether you are visiting our website as a pianist or as an audience member, you have come to the right place. We celebrate amateur pianists, that is, pianists that do not derive their primary source of income from the piano. We are a non profit organization based in beautiful Colorado Springs, Colorado at the foot of the majestic Rocky Mountains.

Our primary purpose is to host musical events, educational opportunities, and concerts throughout the year. Our large festivals are held in the summer. In even numbered years we host a Celebration which includes concerts, workshops and social events to renew and establish friendships amongst pianists and piano music lovers. In odd years, we host a competition. This Rocky Mountain Amateur Piano Competition traditionally draws amateur pianists from all over the world. Winners of the most recent three competitions were from Dubai, Tokyo and nearby Larkspur, Colorado!

Many of our competitors have competed multiple times at our competition. We take pride in being a friendly, supportive group.

This is our tenth year in existence. We were inspired ten years ago by the Van Cliburn International Competition for Outstanding Amateurs. Although there are several international amateur piano competitions that have been established in recent years, our Rocky Mountain Amateur Piano Competition was among the first.

We credit our success to you, our amazing pianists and piano music lovers! As we enter our 10th Anniversary hallmark year, we are thrilled with our many accomplishments and know that it would not have been possible without our friends and supporters. Thank you for contributing to our decade of success!
